On 23 November 2020 Italy has exceeded the threshold of 50,000 deaths since the coronavirus epidemic began in February. 630 deaths were reported, 562 on Sunday, according to the Ministry of Health. This means that 50,453 people have died with or from coronavirus in Italy since the pandemic began on February 20.
Meanwhile, for the third day in a row, the number of new infections decreased within 24 hours. The number of registered new infections fell from 28,337 to 22,930. 148,945 tests were carried out within 24 hours, 15.4 percent of which were positive. Normally, significantly fewer people are tested at weekends than on weekdays.
